AFFLICTED PICTUREHOUSE completed shooting "THE AFFLICTED" on October 23rd, 2009 in Greenville, SC. The feature length film was shot on two RED 4K cameras and is currently in post production. Afflicted Picturehouse Co-founders Jason Stoddard and Lee Dashiell directed and produced the film, a story of incomprehensible abuse delivered by an explosively violent mother of four. Journey through the mind of a child that experiences a living hell, defined and defended by the twisted religious beliefs of her mother.
The lead role of "Maggie" was played by Leslie Easterbrook. Well known for her role as "Mother Firefly" in Rob Zombie's TheDevils Rejects as well as roles in Halloween, Police Academy and most recently House, Easterbrook not only played the principal role of the film, she also acted as producer.
Kane Hodder was a valuable asset to "The Afflicted". His role was two part, playing the role of Hank and also acting as the films primary stunt coordinator. Kane is well know for his role as "Jason Voorhees" in Friday the 13th and one of the best stunt coordinators in the industry. His experience is evident, coordinating stunts in Hatchet, The Devils Rejects, Children of the Corn, Texas Chainsaw Masacre III, and Hack.
Dean Jones and Kristy Horiuchi of American Makeup & Effects were priceless additions to the crew of "The Afflicted". Their work was extraordinary, providing us with special effects that were truly believable. Their work was fascinating , delivering realistic effects that will have an enormous impact on the quality of the film. Well recognized for his work in Night of the Living Dead 3D, Pirates of the Caribbean, Day of the Dead, Coneheads, Toolbox Murders, and Star Trek, to name a few.
